Live missed-call & overflow answering

Keep doing the work. We’ll catch the calls you can’t.

SteadyBell gives contractors and small service businesses live weekday phone backup without replacing the number customers already know. When you cannot answer, selected calls can forward to us. We answer using your approved instructions, collect the details, and send the handoff back to you.

  • Keep your existing number
  • We help configure forwarding
  • Most accounts live in 1–2 business days*

*After first payment and completed onboarding; carrier or phone-system delays can extend setup.

Built for real workdays

You shouldn’t need another full-time front desk just to catch the calls you miss.

You may be on a job, helping a customer, driving between appointments, or already on the phone. SteadyBell gives you live backup when answering every call yourself is not practical.

We are designed to work around the phone setup you already use. You keep your public business number, and the calls you want covered are routed to the SteadyBell line assigned to your business.

Once you are live

Three steps between a missed ring and a useful handoff.

01

The call forwards to SteadyBell

Your phone can ring you or your team first, then forward unanswered or overflow calls to your assigned SteadyBell number.

02

We answer as your business

We follow your approved greeting, intake questions, FAQs, service boundaries, and escalation rules.

03

You get the handoff

Caller details are logged and sent to you promptly so you know who called, what they need, and what they asked to happen next.

Guided onboarding & activation

We do not hand you a number and tell you to figure it out.

We build the call flow, help you configure forwarding, and test the complete path before live customer calls are sent to us.

  1. 1
    Call-flow review

We learn who answers now, when calls are missed, what you want us to collect, and what counts as urgent.

  2. 2
    Onboarding + first payment

You complete your business details and call instructions. The monthly plan is prepaid before activation.

  3. 3
    Your SteadyBell line + playbook

We assign the forwarding number for your business and prepare your greeting, intake rules, FAQs, handoff contacts, and fallback rules.

  4. 4
    Forwarding setup + test calls

We help you work through the forwarding steps for your phone provider, then test the real path from your public number to SteadyBell and back to your handoff.

  5. 5
    Go live

Once the test passes, we confirm your activation date. Your paid service period begins on the actual go-live date.

Recommended

No-answer / overflow forwarding

Your phone rings normally first. If your team cannot answer, the call forwards to SteadyBell during agreed live hours.

Optional

Direct forwarding

Selected calls can route directly to SteadyBell during agreed live coverage when you want us to function as the first answer.

Built in

Fallback rules

Outside live hours or when a call cannot be answered, we establish the approved fallback path in advance instead of leaving it undefined.

Activation timing is an estimate, not a guarantee. Phone-provider restrictions, account access, equipment, or forwarding configuration can delay go-live.

Focused launch services

Reliable phone coverage without pretending to be everything at once.

SteadyBell starts with the calls most likely to slip through the cracks: missed calls, no-answer forwarding, and overflow when your team is already busy.

Common questions

Before you forward a single call.

We build and test the call flow with you first, so SteadyBell knows what to say, what to collect, and when something needs your attention.

Do I have to change my business phone number?

No. Your customers keep calling the number they already know. Your phone system or carrier forwards the calls you want covered to the SteadyBell number assigned to your business.

Do I have to figure out call forwarding by myself?

No. We help you identify the forwarding method that fits your setup, walk through the steps with you, and run test calls before activation. You remain responsible for your own carrier account and any carrier charges, and you should never send us your phone-account password.

How quickly can we start?

Most accounts can be ready within 1–2 business days after first payment and completed onboarding. We confirm go-live only after your playbook, forwarding, and test calls are complete. Carrier or equipment issues can take longer.

When does my paid month actually begin?

Your first monthly payment is collected before activation, but your service period begins on your actual go-live date. The normal monthly plan then renews on that billing anniversary. Usage overages are billed after the completed cycle.

Will callers know they reached an answering service?

We normally use the greeting and business information you approve so the experience is consistent with your company. We do not make technical, pricing, scheduling, dispatch, or service promises you have not authorized.

What happens if another call comes in while you are already on one?

Simultaneous-call handling depends on the phone setup and available staffing. Your busy/fallback rules are established during onboarding so the second caller has a defined path.

Do you answer nights and weekends?

Not as guaranteed live coverage at launch. Standard live answering is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Central, with your approved fallback outside that window.

Can I cancel? Are monthly payments refundable?

You can cancel future renewal by notifying us before your next billing date. Monthly plan fees are generally non-refundable once that paid service period has begun, subject to billing errors, service failures, applicable law, and the full rules in our Terms. Before activation, the first monthly service payment can be refunded if you decide not to go live; any disclosed setup fee may become non-refundable once setup work has started.

No-pressure first step

Let’s look at where your calls are slipping through.

Tell us a little about your business and what happens when you cannot get to the phone. We’ll help estimate which plan makes sense, which forwarding approach fits, and what your activation process would look like.
